Krešimir Starčević created the program Schumann’s Fairy Tales with the idea of gathering and presenting in one place the compositions that Robert Schumann composed in one of his most creative periods from 1849 to 1953. He presented this project on November 6, 2022, in the Vatroslav Lisinski Small Concert Hall as part of the Musical Paths cycle.
He was joined on the concert stage by violist Jasna Simonović Mrčela, cellist Smiljan Mrčela, oboist Dario Golčić, clarinetist Bruno Philipp and trumpet player Vedran Kocelj.
Program consisted of four works that Schumann wrote in 1849 (Adagio & allegro op. 70; Fantasiestücke op. 73; 3 Romances op. 94; 5 Stücke im Volkston, op. 102), one in 1851 (Märchenbilder, op. 113) and one in 1853 (Märchenerzählungen).
In the review of the concert published on the portal klasika.hr, Snježana Miklaušić-Ćeran wrote:
